There is a particular kind of freedom that doesn’t come from leaving.
It comes from staying.
Staying in the feeling that makes you want to run. Staying with the desire you haven’t yet given yourself permission to have. Staying in the room where something true about yourself is waiting.
Bedroomstories is a painting series about that kind of freedom.
The bedroom is where we are most ourselves – unguarded, half-asleep, dreaming. It is the space where the body remembers what the mind tries to forget. Where longing lives quietly alongside memory, and where desire doesn’t need to explain itself.
These paintings are not about perfection or performance. They are about the courage it takes to be curious about yourself. To look at what burns and scares you – and stay anyway.
Because resistance is not always a wall. Sometimes it is a doorway.
Each painting in this series is an invitation – to sit with discomfort, to allow curiosity, to move through shame toward something more honest.
Freedom is not always loud. Sometimes it is a woman in a room. Blue roses. A curtain that doesn’t quite close.
And the decision to stay a little longer.
